Later Life services in Salford - 'Carers Coping' course

Aimed at carers of people with dementia who would like to learn more about the emotional difficulties associated with caring - such as stress,anxiety abd depression.
Based on Cognitive Behavioural therapy approach the course aims to provide carers with coping strategies and to improve quality of life and it isalso a chance ro meet other carers and share experiences. The groups have proved very succcesful in the past. The next course is planned for April

We are pleased to announce that the Carers Centre, in conjunction with MIND in Salford, are offering more
FREE, 8 week, Mindfulness courses for carers.
The first two courses that carers attended were very successful. We are planning further courses during the year so please give us a call or contact us by email to register and we will get back to you with the next available dates.

Mindfulness focusses upon what you are experiencing in the here and now and helps you learn to see your thoughts and experiences as mental events and enable you to become less caught up in stress and distress.The course covers topics such as Mindfulness of Breathing, Meditation Practices and Patterns of Negative Thinking. The NHS recommends Mindfulness to help with stress, anxiety, depression and other issues. The courses are free to access and run in the friendly environment of the Angel Centre.
