Looking after someone who is disabled, physically or mentally ill, frail or otherwise in need of support at home may be rewarding but it can be very tiring. Sometimes all you need is just a few hours break to recharge your batteries or a few days away from your day to day routine. Occasionally a longer period of time is needed to get back on an even keel.
If you are caring for someone who is living within Salford City Council boundaries you may be eligible for a Carers Personal Budget (subject to criteria) to support you to take a break to help alleviate some of the difficulties that can arise for caring for someone.
The aim is to enable the carer to decide for themselves the way(s) in which they would like to have a break such as a holiday, gym membership, educational courses, driving lessons, pampering or complementary therapies. Contact us on 0161 833 0217
